Yesterday my colleagues and I went to Kampong Speu province to attend a trial. Not to my surprise the trial was canceled because the defense lawyer and one of the judges were absent. Since we were already an hour outside of Phnom Penh, we took a little adventure detour. Nothing like exploring the jungle in business clothes. We did however have an amazing time feeding a troop of monkeys. Many of them were pregnant or had babies; their resemblance to human behavior was astonishing.

The mothers were incredibley protective of their young.

Trips like these are always a welcome surprise.Numerous times I’ve had the privilege of getting to see Cambodia from the locals perspective and it’s always significantly more rewarding than sticking to the comfortable tourist friendly spots.
